Just a couple of oldies that I stumbled upon this week.
HAPPY FRIDAY and hope you have a blessed and safe weekend!
Remember to Enjoy Every Single Moment!
And we have a NAME!!! The new cabin has actually had a name for several weeks now, but we’ve been a tad bit busy. Camp started on June 9th and the new cabin is housing some of our office staff, the APD’s, the media directors, and our amazing nannies! We’d like to thank a very special Susan Bernstein Matthews for helping us come up with this great cabin name! We love you, Berstein!
Meet the Lookout!
Well, it sure is coming together nicely! We are so excited to house some of our amazing staff in the new cabin this summer. Our Media Director, Office Staff, Photographers, and some other lucky ladies are going to be the first “campers” in the new Vista Cabin. You know… there are only 89 days until camp starts!!! 🙂
Let me be the first to introduce you to our new CABIN!!
This sweet new cabin will have 4 separate bedrooms, each with their own bathroom, with front doors opening up to a shared covered porch. They will also share the common room in the middle, which will have a kitchen and living area. We are so excited about this project and cannot wait for the first tenants to be staying there.
The only problem is…. we CANNOT THINK OF A NAME FOR IT!! If you have any amazing ideas, please send them to us at sarak [at] vistacamps [dot] com or post them to our Facebook page. As soon as we decide on a name, we will let you know!
Meet Hamlet, the 2012 Vista Zoo pig. Our sweet First Term campers named him, fed him, and turned him into a big pet. I don’t think he has stopped eating since then. Here is evidence that he is being well taken care of. Enjoy and happy Wednesday!
And now for the fun part… the paperwork! All camp forms are located in your CampInTouch Account. Just log in using the same e-mail address and password that you used when you registered your child for camp. Final payment is due by April 1, or within 2 weeks of registration. If you need an extension, please let Sara know at sarak [at] vistacamps [dot] com or 830-367-5353.
Camp Clothing and Equipment – Packing List
Internet and Technology Policies – Read and review this with your camper prior to camp.
Log into your CampIntouch Account to complete the following forms. Yep – most of them are online this year! This helps Vista Camps go even greener, helps you complete the forms and get them to us in just minutes (saving you a stamp), and also gets you familiar with the CampInTouch system, which you will be using a lot this summer! If you aren’t as computer savvy as your children, just give Sara a call and she can walk you through it or even send you paper forms. 🙂

Physician’s Exam – By law, we need a current Physician’s Exam each year.
Here at Rio Vista and Sierra Vista, we pride ourselves on our emphasis on tradition and the enthusiasm of our campers and staff. One of the best manners in which to preserve these vital qualities of our camps is accomplished by recruiting our former campers to work as staff members. We feel that just as much can be gained from the camp experience on the staffing side of things as the camper side. In order to help our former campers maneuver this transition with the greatest amount of ease and success, we offer our 2-week CIT program to those 17-year-olds who are interested in making every camper’s experience an unforgettable one.
The members of the CIT program must meet certain requirements and expectations as outlined by Rio Vista and Sierra Vista. These requirements and expectations are as follows:
With these rules and expectations, we aim to create a positive experience for CITs as they make the transition from campers to counselor. If you are interested in the CIT program and/or have any further questions, please contact Nathan Henry (nathanh [at] vistacamps [dot] com) or Beth Rumbo (bethr [at] vistacamps [dot] com) for more information.
