Monday, July 2nd, was the start of another amazing week at Sierra Vista. It began with activity sign up where the girls were able to choose five new activities for Monday, Wednesday, Friday and an additional four activities for Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. After everyone picked their activities, the girls headed down to the RV waterfront for fun in the sun on the blob, bullet, butt buster, mini-blog and free swim areas.
In the afternoon, everyone began their normal 4th and 5th period activities. Later that evening, the girls met up in their assigned tribes to practice for Sing Yell. Sing Yell is a tribe competition that involves an immense amount of practice. All tribe members must participate in what can simply be put as a singing competition. An original song with movements are made up by the tribe officers, the tribe song must be sung, along with a chant of their choosing, and they will be judged. Judging is based on annunciation, posture, cohesive movements, and overall performance.
The night ended with an intense game of Vista Ball where the Chickasaws came out victorious.
Until next time.
