The Riiiiiioooooo VISTA Spirit, It Is The BEST!!
Friday was another fantastic day at Rio Vista!
Morning Tribe Comps (which they have almost every day as their first activity after cabin clean-up) included Kickball for the Pioneers, Basketball for Frontier and Plainsman divisions, and Cavaliers played Soccer. Sioux claimed victories in the Pioneer, Frontier, and Cav divisions with GA Plainsman capturing a win in their division.
There are times at camp when Sierra Vista (the girls camp) and Rio Vista (us boys) get together for an activity. Friday evening was one of those times. Both camps gathered at the flag pole for cabin reports, enjoyed a dinner of corn dogs and watermelon, and attended the Vista Carnival.
While at flag pole, for the first time this term the RV tribe that is currently in first place raised their flag. By ever so slight of a margin, that tribe is the Golden Arrows. Their green flag is proudly waving just above the SV Chickasaw’s purple flag.
At the Carnival the campers participated in events like the dunking booth, karaoke, Club Vista, snow cones, face painting, and more. Check the photos link for images of the evening’s many smiling faces.
After Carnival, RV and SV campers filled the steps of Boys’ Waterfront for Closing Campfire for the one week campers that will be going home on Saturday. We reminisced about the great week we’ve had, sang campfire songs, and watched as the embers lifted into the starry night while we sang Taps.
We will be sad to see our one week-ers leave but look forward to seeing them again at camp parties and back at RV next year.
