Cabins and Buildings
All natural stone cabins and buildings are built for comfort, beauty, cleanliness and permanence. Each spacious cabin is designed to capture the cool Hill Country breezes.
All cabins have electricity, comfortable beds and plenty of space for the campers and their belongings. All of the girls’ cabins and the youngest boys’ cabins have connected bath facilities. Boys’ cabins house up to 8 campers and 2 counselors. Girls’ cabins house up to 6 campers and 2 counselors in the youngest division and up to 19 campers and 5 counselors in the older groups. Campers are placed by age, grade and development.
Meals and Snacks
Well-balanced meals of the highest quality are prepared daily by our experienced kitchen staff. All meals are served “family style” in our spacious dining hall. Food is plentiful and tasty, with favorites like spaghetti, fajitas, fried chicken, and of course, home-made breads and desserts. A new salad/breakfast bar has been added and is a huge hit! Some special diets can be accommodated with advance notice. For campers with a birthday during their term, we celebrate with a special cake and the traditional Vista “birthday skillet”. A daily snack (ie. fruit, ice cream, granola bar, etc.) is also provided to everyone immediately after their afternoon rest period.
Health & Safety
Every camper’s health and safety is of the utmost concern at Vista Camps. Our safety record is excellent and we are inspected and licensed by the Texas Department of Health annually.
Our camp nurses are on duty at all times and a well-equipped infirmary is easily accessible when needed. The camp physician is nearby, subject to call day and night, and a complete NEW hospital facility is only minutes away.
