Only 253 days until Opening Day at Vista!! Yes, we count the days down just as much as you guys do.
What are yall’s favorite things about fall? Mine are: the changing colors of the trees, the sound you hear when stepping on a pile of crunchy leaves (I literally go out of my way to step on dry leaves), the smell, sound and warmth of the living room fireplace, cuddling up on the couch with a good book and my great-grandma’s old quilt, getting together with family for birthdays and Thanksgiving.. There are so many things I love about this time of year!! Pretty much all of it.
Since our Spring here at camp is super busy with preparations for the Summer, I find myself doing our “Spring cleaning” in the Fall. We’ve wrapped up the Summer and gotten Earlibird registrations all filed away, so we have some breathing room to start planning the next year. It might be the sudden change of the weather, but something makes me want to clean out every closet in the office and purge things we don’t need. You alumni would have a BLAST cleaning out boxes that have been stored for more than 20 years. It’s like a Vintage Rio Vista treasure hunt and there are always the most amazing finds. For instance, today I ran across these old Vista Video Yearbooks from the 90’s. That was my PRIME TIME at Vista! You have no idea how excited I am to – first find a VCR to borrow – and then sit down with my family and show them how adorable I was as a kid. 🙂 We don’t have many home videos from my childhood, so this is like a treasure for me. Do yall ever pull out the camp videos and take time to watch them? You should! Watch them with friends while they are spending the night. Let them see for themselves how great camp is and why you love it so much. Share that Vista Love! 🙂 And make time to video your sweet family this weekend. Much Vista Love to you all! Have a blessed weekend, Sara
